چکیده

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is associated with elevated pulmonary vascular resistance, resulting in increased reflection of pressure and flow waves from distal vessels. The gold standard for assessing PAH is right heart catheterization, an invasive procedure that carries a 5% risk of major complications. We validate a noninvasive method for quantifying pulmonary arterial reflection using phase-contrast (PC) and steady-state free precession (SSFP) sequences acquired in a single slice.

Balanced Phase Contrast Steady State Free Precession (PC-SSFP): Velocity Encoding by Gradient Inversion

chnique for velocity measurements (PC-SSFP) is presented that combines CINE Phase Contrast (PC) MRI and balanced Steady State Free Precession. Sensitivity to through plane velocities was established by inverting (i.e. negating) the slice select gradient for consecutively executed balanced SSFP pulse sequences. Velocity sensitivity (venc) could be adjusted by increasing the first moments of the ...

Comparison the Accuracy of Fetal Brain Extraction from T2-Half-Fourier Acquisition Single-Shot Turbo Spin-Echo (HASTE) MR Image with T2-True Fast Imaging with Steady State Free Precession (TRUFI) MR Image by Level Set Algorithm

Background Access to appropriate images of fetal brain can greatly assist to diagnose of probable abnormalities. The aim of this study was to compare the suitability of T2-True Fast Imaging with Steady State Free Precession (T2-TRUFI), and T2-Half-Fourier Acquisition Single-Shot Turbo Spin-Echo (T2- HASTE( magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to extract the fetal brain using the level set algorithm...

Reproducibility of functional aortic analysis using MRI: the multi-ethnic study of atherosclerosis

Methods Twenty-five participants underwent aortic MRI twice over 13 ± 7 days. All aortic variables (ascending aortic area, descending aortic area, ascending and descending aortic strain [maximum area minus minimum area divided by minimum area], aortic arch transit time and pulse wave velocity [PWV]) from baseline and repeat MR were analyzed using a semi-automated method by the ARTFUN software. ...

Breast MRI Using a Balanced Steady-State Free Precession Imaging with a Two-Point Dixon Fat-Water Reconstruction Algorithm: Preliminary Experience and Comparison with 2D FSE

INTRODUCTION: Balanced steady-state free precession (b-SSFP) techniques yielding high SNR images in short scan times with T2-like image contrast have several appealing attributes for clinical breast MRI [1]. Clinical T2 imaging in the breast is routinely performed using a fat suppressed 2D Fast Spin Echo (FSE) pulse sequence with high in-plane spatial resolution. The 3-5 mm slice thickness obsc...

SSFP and GRE phase contrast imaging using a three-echo readout.

A technique for rapid in-plane phase-contrast imaging with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is described. Velocity-encoding is achieved by oscillating the readout gradient, such that each 2DFT phase-encode is acquired three times following a single RF slice-selective excitation. Three images are reconstructed, from which both flow velocity and local resonance offset are calculated. This techniq...
